Cranberries that are worth the trip

Cranberry farms are not common in New York State, but fresh cranberries are well worth the trip to one of the few that there are. We source all of our cranberries from the unique location of Deer River Cranberries in Brasher Falls, New York.

Cranberries are harvested by flooding the fields they grow in. They then float to the top and are pushed into a pump that gathers them from the bog into a truck, and then ultimately into storage.

Our owner, Alejandro, makes a trip up north once a year to pick up cranberries from this picturesque location. Although the trip is a little long, the fresh, New York cranberries are always more than worth the trip.

Once we have the cranberries at our Albany location, we co-ferment them with fresh pressed apple juice and yeast to create delicious, cranberry hard cider.
