Cheers to Inclusion! Nine Pin Ciderworks Donates to LGBTQ+ Organizations

Throughout Pride Month this June, Nine Pin Ciderworks, New York’s first farm cidery now celebrating 10 years, supported three organizations dedicated to amplifying the LGBTQ+ community. This initiative underscores Nine Pin’s commitment to fostering diversity, equality, and inclusivity.

A portion of sales of Nine Pin’s specially crafted glitter cider, Disco Berry, released for the first time in June, was donated to OutHudson’s scholarship fund, a fund developed as a collaboration between Columbia-Greene Community College Scholarship Foundation, and OutHudson called the OutHudson LGBTQ Scholarship Fund. Disco Berry sold out by July 1st. A total of $1,301 was raised to contribute to the fund, which is more than twice the amount that Nine Pin had donated to the fund the previous year.

Nine Pin also developed a unique cocktail, called Roy G. Biv, for its Tasting Room for Pride Month. A portion of the sales from that cocktail was pledged to In Our Own Voices and Nine Pin was proud to donate $365 dollars from those sales as well as to donate cider to their BIPOC Pride Event on June 8th.

And stretching into July, Nine Pin is providing its own crafted non-alcoholic beverages at, and is a proud sponsor of, Collar City Pride’s Troy Pride Festival, which is Troy’s very first pride event, happening this Sunday, July 14, 2025, from noon to 5:00 p.m. Nine Pin has committed to sponsoring and to being the premiere beverage supplier for Collar City Pride’s pride event next year as well.

Each of these organizations plays a vital role in advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, providing essential resources, and creating safe spaces for the community. Images with Disco Berry and Collar City Pride are downloadable here.

“Nine Pin has always been about more than just great cider; we feel strongly about creating a community where everyone feels welcome and celebrated,” said Alejandro del Peral, Nine Pin’s co-owner and head cidermaker. “We are thrilled to support these incredible organizations and stand with the LGBTQ+ community.”

Cider connoisseurs may enjoy Nine Pin’s ciders seven days a week in their Albany Tasting Room, located in the City’s Warehouse district, and from retailers across New York State, Massachusetts and New Jersey, as well as at bars and restaurants who proudly carry Nine Pin products. Residents in other states may purchase Nine Pin’s ciders through Nine Pin’s online store.
